Benefits of Chapter Membership
GPAG is an organization dedicated to connecting those involved in public purchasing with the resources needed to succeed. Our membership year runs January through December, and you are welcome to join at any time. See below for information on how to join.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
GPAG provides several professional development opportunities, including a spring and fall conference each year. The conferences provide valuable training in public procurement. Participants receive nationally recognized Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit and NIGP recertification points for all GPAG sponsored professional development classes.
GPAG also hosts two vendor-member events each year: an annual Supplier Fair and a reverse trade show. The events offer venues for those involved in public procurement to learn about the products and services offered by participating exhibitors, and proceeds help us offer improved service to our membership.
NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
GPAG offers members the opportunity to network with colleagues from throughout Georgia at conferences and meetings. These networking opportunities promote the exchange of ideas and experiences.
WEBSITE
The GPAG website provides the latest purchasing news. Special events, job opportunities, and other postings provide valuable information for purchasing officials.
NEWSLETTERS
Newsletters are mailed to GPAG members twice each year. These newsletters spotlight purchasing departments in Georgia, provide information about the association, and articles about trends in public procurement.
AWARDS
The Public Procurement Officer and Buyer of the Year Awards seek to recognize excellence in public procurement. The Darrell Strange Award recognizes dedication and service to GPAG. Recipients of these awards receive a plaque of recognition and an expense paid trip to NIGP's National Forum.
